Oracle Monitoring & Management
Oracle is the leader in the enterprise database market. Its database product is used as the storage tier for a large percentage of the worlds most demanding applications.
In order to provide management capabilities that bridge the Oracle knowledge gap between DBAs and IT operators who have to manage Oracle alongside other types of technologies, Hyperic has developed an Oracle monitoring plugin to use the same call mechanism used by Oracle's administrative interface to expose comprehensive monitoring for the database instance, as well as individual database user accounts.
HQ provides you with information about performance of each database instance that allows you to compare it with the information about the I/O performance of the hardware as well as per user storage consumption and a number of other metrics which are integral to proper operation of Oracle installations.
Hyperic HQ aims to provide Oracle users the management capabilities typically found in database centric tools coupled with management support for the other technologies which, along with databases, are used in today's enterprise environment.
Its powerful application concept allows you to visualize monitoring data from your database tier alongside your business logic and presentation tiers by giving you the ability to measure how client activity is reflected across the various layers of your application infrastructure.
