MS Exchange Server Monitoring & Management
Microsoft Exchange is one of the most popular messaging and groupware platform in use today. Hyperic's support for Exchange allows you to manage your Exchange server infrastructure alongside the rest of your IT resources without sacrificing functionality normally only accessible via the Exchange monitoring tools.
HQ manages the Exchange server itself, as well as auto discovers and manages the individual SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, WebMail and IIS infrastructure which make up the Exchange environment. This means you can manage and monitor the consumption of mailbox storage, alongside the performance of Exchange's web services interface which is used by both Outlook as well as web based clients.
HQ compliments its monitoring capabilities for Exchange with the ability to track and record any Exchange related event found in the Windows server event log. This feature allows an Exchange administrator to easily view and correlate any Exchange event log message with any of the many metrics collected by HQ.
Administrators can define alerts against specific text found in an event log message, thus trapping any one of the many events which can help prevent a minor problem from becoming a major outage.
All this functionality is delivered using HQ's native Windows management technology which ensures maximum stability and minimal overhead in managing the entire Windows product family.
